Who: You and a guest.

What: Turkey Party 2002, a celebration of good food, tasty conversation, nice people and non-traditional cooking devices. As with last year, vegetarian dining options will be available.

When: Saturday, October 5th at 7:00. Dinner will be served sometime around 8:30. (Those wishing to be present for the dropping of the bird into the turkey fryer should arrive before 7:15.)

Where: Mark's new apartment at 1928 Emerson Ave. S. #21 in Minneapolis. (For those of you who attended last year's Turkey Party, 1928 Emerson is one building north of Mark's old apartment.) Parking is usually available within a block and a half, and they're small blocks.

Why: Mark's employer gave him a turkey for Thanksgiving last year and he needs to restore space in his freezer before he gets another one. Besides, it's a good excuse for a party.

RSVP: Please RSVP by Thursday, October 3rd by calling (612) 703-3772 or e-mailing Mark at turkey@nonlocality.com. Turkey Party 2002 will be quasi-potluck: It would be really spiffy if you brought something, but please do not feel obligated to do so. (If you feel like contributing, please contact Mark to make sure you're not doubling up on someone else.) In addition to the turkey, Mark will provide the essentials, including the vegetarian dish, wine, and some interesting non-alcoholic beverages. (I couldn't identify a good beer to save my life, so if you're looking for that kind of refreshment while kicking back at the party, please bring it with you.)

This will be the Turkey Party's third year, so I guess it's officially a trend. Hope to see you there.
