Journal for 11 June 2006

11:47 p.m. This time last week we were still on our way back from Boston. In a way, we’re still recovering from the trip. It’s been a busy, chaotic week for both of us, and the condo, while looking significantly cleaner than it did on Monday, is only about two-thirds of the way to being clean.

It was kind of a mixed weekend. We originally had plans to head to River Falls to visit Jason and Sarah, but a Lisa got a nasty cold Friday night, basically scuttling those plans. She was feeling better enough today for us to go to the grand opening of the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s new galleries for a couple of hours, but if her cold is anything like mine was on the trip, it’ll probably take her a few more days to completely kick it. (I go into detail over at lstc.org on my thoughts on the new wing.)

Other than that, not much. We made another trip to Trader Joe’s in St. Louis Park today, which resulted in somewhat of an argument between Lisa and I after I derogatorily referred to it (again) as an Aldi for yuppies. (While I meant that as a joke, it apparently has some basis in reality.) We also saw An Inconvenient Truth on Friday, but in general have tried to lay low and avoid spending money. Going on a two-week vacation can do that to you, I guess.

It’s Monday now. Almost time to get back to work.

More later.
