Jane Jacobs, 1916-2006

Jane Jacobs died this morning at the age of 89. Her passing is an incredible loss for cities and those who care about them.

(And yes, I’m a bit weirded out by the fact that just yesterday I wrote a brief entry on The Death and Life of Great American Cities.)

“Monday Night Live” on Minneapolis Public Access Channel 16

“Monday Night Live” on MTN channel 16. I wish I had something to link to here. It’s basically a partially clothed couple on a couch, randomly kissing and massaging each other while taking crude phone calls from the Minneapolis viewing audience. “Would you like to rest your head in my robin’s nest?” WTF. “Does the hair cut off on the cheeks?” “No, it swirls in patches.” And then: “My guy has a raging boner and I’m going to blow him right here.” And finally: “How would you like a hot beef injection?”

I love Minneapolis public access, but this is even weirder than the guy preaching from the Segway.

Update: MNL is followed by The Hemp Channel.
